RFC Fire Rescue on Call

Protecting the residents of Northern Michigan

RFC_CoverageArea

Volunteer Fire and Rescue of Northern Michigan

RFC Fire And Rescue serves the three townships of Readmond, Friendship and Cross Village, covering an area of 72.7 square miles with about 26 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline.  Around one-third of the land is state owned and mostly covered by forest.

The resident population was recorded as 1778 in the 2017 census.  It is conservatively estimated that the population triples during the summer months.

Our all-volunteer squad currently has 18 members, with many of them being cross-trained as both firefighters and emergency medical responders.  We are always looking for more volunteers!

  • For medical emergencies, make note of time of incident
  • Either gather any medications or have a list
